17. Evening rural walk around Hangmans Woods

By Editor · On June 6, 2016

Thursday 14 July, 6.15pm

This circular walk will visit Hangmans Wood, a site of Special Scientific Interest because of the presence of a number of deneholes: underground hollows that are now home to colonies of bats. We’ll also walk through rural countryside, skirting Chadwell St Mary and seeing the remains of the mill at Orsett and the existing windmill at Baker Street. Download our map here Walk 17.

Accessibility

These walks are of different lengths and on different terrain. Some are mainly on footpaths, and others mainly on footpaths where ground may be uneven. Download our map here Walk 17 and use the colour coding so that you can decide if a route will be suitable for you.

Circular Walk

Starts: 6.15pm

Meet: Blackshots Swimming Pool, Grays RM16 2JU

Duration: 2 hours

Distance: 5 miles

Walk Leader: Peter Woodard

This is a moderate walk

Whilst we endeavour to make all our walks as safe and enjoyable as possible, any walk attended is done so at your own risk.  Click here to see our tips and recommendations!
