T100 Calling walking, talking and making festival, 12th to 27th September 2020

A massive thank you to everyone in Thurrock that helped create such beautiful mandalas, and to all those who created your own at home, it has been fantastic to see it all coming together. We look forward to continuing to work together to make a difference! Check out our mandala gallery to see all the amazing artworks we’ve collectively created

This year was a call to action to rise to local challenges through the collective process of designing and making beautiful large-scale mandalas inspired by Scottish artist, Therese Muskus.

As we travelled to each location we took the opportunity to reflect on issues including climate change, plastic waste, reclaiming public spaces, bio-diversity, growing sustainable communities, health and well-being – whilst collaboratively making beautiful pieces of art from locally collected materials.

There were eight key events, some were live and some were self-directed with information we shared online to inspire you.   All walk routes will remain on the individual walk pages for you to follow at your own pace.  T100 Calling was part of Totally Thames 2020.

Together we will creatively re-imagine how we can make a difference in our communities for future generations.

Join the conversation and share your mandalas on social media with #T100Calling

This year everyone could join in with T100 Calling using our free activity pack.

The pack aimed to inspire participants to respond to one of our seven themes using a creative, fun and innovative series of exercises to help design mandalas at home.

Social media never sleeps – you can still share your work with us in the  T100 Walking Arts Facebook Group or by tagging us on Twitter and Instagram @thurrock100
