Saturday 9 July, 1.30pm
We set out from the hexagonal 17th century dovecote at High House and visit the historic Purfleet Heritage Centre inside one of five gunpowder stores built on the Thames in the 18th Century, before exploring the award-winning RSPB bird sanctuary at Rainham Marshes. Built on ancient marshland once used as a firing range, it’s home to an extraordinary range of wildlife. Download a map here: Walk 4.
These walks are of different lengths and on different terrain. Some are mainly on footpaths, and others mainly on footpaths where ground may be uneven. Download our map here Walk 4 and use the colour coding so that you can decide if a route will be suitable for you.
