Saturday 9 July, 2pm
This circular walk around historic Grays begins at the State Cinema, opened in 1938, and visits Grays Wharf, the wreck of The Gull, a lightship built in 1860, the Thurrock Yacht Club, the site of the Exmouth training ship and Grays Beach. We’ll hear about Darwin’s collaborator Alfred Russel Wallace, who made his home here in the 19th C and built one of the first houses to be constructed from concrete. Download our map here Walk 5
