Do you enjoy creative activities? Perhaps you like knitting or painting, or you’re a dab hand at cake decorating or costume design. If so, we’d love you to help us paint 100 beautiful new silk flags, each telling one of the stories of Thurrock. You don’t need previous experience of painting on silk, and you definitely don’t need to be a skilled artist – enthusiasm and the enjoyment of creative things are the only requirements! Workshops are open to anyone, regardless of age.
The flags will be used as part of a spectacular finale to Thurrock 100 2016, directed by leading choreographer Jeanefer Jean-Charles, in which up to 600 school children from 20 Thurrock schools will take part.
Drop-in workshops will take place at Kinetika’s studios at High House Production Park, Purfleet, 6 – 17 June 2016. There will be some evening and weekend sessions. Please book a place here or contact us for more information.
